We built Live Like Charlie to make doing one small good action simple, shareable, and inspiring. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control your information.

What we collect

• Submission data: action name, platform, your post link, optional name/alias, optional screenshot URL, and timestamp.
• Usage data: basic analytics such as pages visited and device type, used in aggregate to improve the site.
• Local streaks: your streak badges are stored only on your device (browser localStorage).

We do not sell your data. We use aggregated, de-identified trends to improve the challenge.

How submissions work

When you paste your public post link or upload an optional screenshot, we store the submission in our database and the screenshot in our storage bucket. Public links are preferred and may appear in recent submissions or leaderboards.

• Public links: count best and may be displayed as “Open”.
• Private links: may be anonymized or excluded from public lists.
• Screenshots: are optional and publicly accessible if you choose to upload.

Your choices & control

• Remove a submission: email us with your post link and the timestamp. We’ll remove or anonymize upon request.
• Do not upload screenshots: you can participate without uploading any images.
• Local streaks: you can clear your browser’s localStorage to reset your streak badges.

Security

We protect data in transit with HTTPS and restrict database access by policy. While no system is perfectly secure, we apply least-privilege access and monitor for abuse.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us to remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect improvements or legal requirements. When we do, we’ll update the “Effective” date at the top.
